A characteristic feature of Asian cuisine is the original flavor combinations: meat usually harmonizes with rich, sweet, and sour-sweet marinades. A striking example is pork in honey sauce – a popular Chinese dish.
Ingredients:
- Pork neck 700 g
- Green onions 1 bunch
- Corn starch 4 tbsp
- Sunflower oil 20 ml
- Salt 1/4 tsp
- Ground black pepper 1/3 tsp
- Ground chili pepper 1/4 tsp
- White sesame 1 tbsp
 For the sauce
- Soy sauce 2 tbsp
- Onions 1 piece
- Oyster sauce 2 tbsp
- Honey 2 tbsp
- White wine vinegar 1 tbsp
- Water 100 ml
Directions:
- Cut the pork into cubes with a side of about 2 cm and put them in a deep bowl. Salt, pepper, and mix thoroughly. Leave for 10 minutes.
- To prepare the sauce, mix all the ingredients in a deep bowl. Peel and cut the onion into small cubes.
- Pour vegetable oil into a large frying pan to a layer of 1.5-2 cm and put on medium heat. Pour cornstarch on a flat plate. Roll the meat in it and put it in the frying pan.
- Fry over high heat until golden brown on all sides. Place the finished meat on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Drain the oil from the frying pan and pour in the prepared sauce. Bring to a boil and cook for about a minute.
- Then put the meat in there and cook over high heat, stirring constantly, for 4-5 minutes. The sauce should almost evaporate.
- Sprinkle the finished pork with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and chili pepper. Mix thoroughly and serve. It is advisable to serve the finished pork in honey sauce immediately after cooking, optionally adding neutral side dishes, such as boiled rice. Under the crispy crust lies tender meat, complemented by a sweet and salty sauce and crispy sesame seeds.
