The origin of pizza goes back to ancient times. According to culinary historians, it first appeared in Naples in 1522, when tomatoes were brought to Europe. However, before that, the ancient Romans and Greeks already had dishes that were slices of bread with various additions laid on top. In the modern world, there are a huge number of pizza recipes that differ in cooking methods, types of dough, and fillings. For example, try pizza with mushrooms – a simple, but incredibly tasty variety of a popular Italian dish.
Ingredients:
- Wheat flour – 200 g
- Water – 125 ml
- Dry yeast – 5 g
- Olive oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
For the filling:
- Champignons – 300 g
- Semi-hard cheese – 200 g
- Tomato sauce – 5 tbsp
- Olive oil – 1 tbsp
- Dried oregano – 1 tsp
Directions:
- In a small bowl, add yeast and 3 tbsp of warm water. Stir and leave for 15 minutes to activate the yeast.
- In a separate bowl, add wheat flour with salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and the remaining water. Start making the dough.
- Then add 1 tbsp of olive oil to the dough and knead the dough until smooth for 10 minutes.
- Roll the resulting dough into a ball and place it in a bowl. Grease it with olive oil, cover the bowl, and leave it in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Dust the work surface with flour. Lay out the dough, make a thin flat cake about 25-30 cm in diameter. Place the resulting flat cake on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.
- Using a tablespoon or a pastry brush, grease the surface of the flatbread with tomato sauce.
- Wash the mushrooms, dry them, and cut them into thin slices. Spread them evenly on the flatbread.
- Grate the cheese on a medium grater and sprinkle it on the pizza. Bake the pizza in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Then sprinkle the pizza with olive oil and serve. Enjoy!
- Serve the pizza with mushrooms hot or reheated for maximum enjoyment of its taste. This easy-to-make dish has a bright, pleasant taste. In it, tender yeast dough harmonizes with rich, aromatic mushrooms, sweet and sour tomato sauce, viscous cheese, and dried herbs.
