Chicken hearts with onions are a simple but incredibly tasty dish that attracts attention with its appetizing appearance, rich taste, and aroma. Hearts are not only a tasty delicacy, but also a source of protein, vitamins, and minerals.
Ingredients:
- Chicken hearts – 400 g
- Onions – 1 piece
- Carrots – 1 piece
- Water – 50 ml
- Greens – to taste
- Vegetable oil – 4 tbsp.
- Ground black pepper – to taste
- Salt – to taste
Directions:
- If you are using frozen hearts to prepare chicken hearts with onions, defrost them at room temperature. Cut off excess fat and blood vessels from defrosted or chilled offal. Peel the onion and cut into thin half rings. Peel and chop the carrots.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan with a thick bottom. Put the chopped onion and carrot and fry, stirring, over medium heat until golden brown.
- Transfer the fried onions and carrots to a deep bowl. Then add chicken hearts to the same frying pan. Increase the heat to high and fry, stirring, for literally a few seconds. Then pour in water, add salt and pepper, and bring to a boil. As soon as the water boils, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes. After the specified time, remove the lid, increase the heat, and let all the remaining liquid evaporate. Return the fried vegetables here, add pepper, and stir. Serve the chicken hearts with onions, garnished with fresh herbs. Enjoy!
