The recipe for cacao with pepper was invented by the ancient Aztecs. A hot mixture of milk, cocoa powder and chili is wonderfully invigorating. So at the end of a difficult day, allow yourself a cup of warm cocoa with a pinch of red pepper – the hot spice will work as a tonic for the brain and the whole body: fatigue will dissipate, mood and vigor will return!
Don’t be afraid of hot chili in the drink. Thanks to milk and sugar, its spiciness is softened – and cocoa acquires an interesting velvety taste.
Ingredients:
- Milk – 300 ml
- Cocoa powder – 1.5 tbsp
- Fresh chili pepper – 1–2 g
- Ground nutmeg – to taste
- Cinnamon – ¼ tsp
- Vanilla extract – ¼ tsp
- Water – 1 tbsp
- Honey – 1 tsp
- Dark chocolate – 1 piece
Directions:
- Pour the milk into a small saucepan and heat over low heat. No need to boil.
- Pour the cocoa powder into a cup, mix with cinnamon and nutmeg. Add vanilla extract and water. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until smooth.
- Grate the chili pepper on a fine grater. Combine the pasty mixture and a pinch of chili with milk and mix the cocoa well. Bring to a boil, add sugar or a teaspoon of honey. Strain and pour into a glass or cup.
- Grate the dark chocolate on a fine grater and sprinkle it over the finished drink.
