Creme Brulee

Creme brulee is one of the most popular European desserts.

Ingredients:

  • Egg yolk 3 pcs.
  • Cream 35% 500 ml
  • Sugar 3 tablespoons
  • Vanilla pod – 1 piece
  • Brown sugar 3 teaspoons

Directions:

  1. Cut the vanilla pod lengthwise, remove the seeds, and put them together with the pod in a saucepan.
  2. Pour the cream here. Bring to a boil and remove from the stove. Strain the heated cream through a sieve.
  3. While the cream is heating, mix the yolks with sugar until lightening.
  4. While stirring the yolk mixture, pour hot cream in a thin stream. Mix thoroughly until homogeneity and complete dissolution of sugar.
  5. Pour the resulting mass into heat-resistant portion molds with a volume of 150-200 ml.
  6. Place the molds in one large baking dish. Pour hot water so that it reaches the middle of the small molds. Bake in an oven preheated to 150 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
  7. The top of the finished dessert should have a golden hue, and the middle should tremble when shaken. Allow the finished crème brûlée to cool at room temperature, and then put it in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours, preferably overnight. Sprinkle the cooled dessert with brown sugar and caramelize using a gas burner. Creme brulee can also be put in a preheated oven with the “Grill” mode turned on for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Despite the use of a limited number of ingredients, the finished crème brûlée is a real masterpiece of culinary art.
