Crispy Cheese Sticks

Crispy cheese sticks are a real work of culinary art, a favorite snack of gourmets. According to legend, the dish is a kind of relative of Italian breadsticks grissini, in which cheese was added.

Ingredients:

  • Cheese 250 g
  • Breadcrumbs 200 g
  • Chicken eggs 3 pcs.
  • Wheat flour 100 g
  • Vegetable oil 300 ml
  • Turmeric 1/4 tsp.
  • Ground black pepper 1/4 tsp.

Directions:

  1. In a deep bowl, beat the eggs with a fork until smooth. Pour flour and breadcrumbs into separate flat plates.
    Pour spices into a plate with breadcrumbs. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Cut the cheese into bars about 1 cm thick and about 10 cm long.
  3. Roll the cheese bars in flour from all sides, and then, using tongs or a fork, dip them in the egg mixture so that it completely covers the cheese.
  4. Roll the resulting workpiece in breadcrumbs. Repeat with the remaining cheese bars.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan. Lay out the workpieces and fry them until golden on both sides (1-1.5 minutes on each side). Put the finished cheese sticks on a paper towel, and then serve immediately.
  6. Ready-made crispy cheese sticks are recommended to be served hot, immediately after cooking. Under the appetizing golden, spicy crust hides a piquant, salty cheese, which has a tender, chewy texture and awakens the appetite with just one look. Serve the snack with your favorite sauces, especially the sticks go well with lingonberry jam.
