Tartar Sauce

If you like to complement your usual dishes with various sauces, pay attention to the sauce “Tartar”. This is one of the most popular and beloved by gourmets sauces, prepared on the basis of mayonnaise. There is nothing complicated in its preparation, just follow our recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Mayonnaise – 4 tbsp.
  • Pickled gherkins – 2 pcs.
  • Chicken eggs – 1 pc.
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp.
  • Green onions – 1 sprig
  • Ground black pepper – 1/4 tsp.
  • Salt – 1/4 tsp.

Directions:

  1. Boil the egg, peel, and carefully separate the yolk. Mix the egg yolk with a fork. Mix with mayonnaise.
  2. Cut the gherkins into cubes and cut them into smaller pieces with a knife. Make sure that excess liquid has drained from the chopped gherkins. Finely chop the green onions.
  3. Put the chopped onion, gherkins, and mustard seeds in a bowl with mayonnaise. Pepper, salt, and mix thoroughly.
  4. The sauce goes well with fish, seafood, and potatoes. Store the finished sauce in the refrigerator in a jar with a tightly closed lid for no more than 4 days. If desired, you can replace the mayonnaise with sour cream.
